A fairytale queen is given two flowers that, if eaten, will help her have a child. Despite being told not to do so, she eats both and so gives birth to a monster as well as a human son.

    When the human prince is old enough he leaves to find his bride. A now adult monster, the Lindworm, stops him and demands that he have a bride first. The king a queen comply, only to send several princesses to die at the teeth of the Lindworm.

A peasant girl is the last offered to the monster. With advice from a witch, she saves him from his curse. The eldest prince is released from the body of the worm and becomes the new king.
